COMMUNITY TRADE ORGANIC ALCOHOL FROM BRAZIL
SOURCED FROM NATIVE SINCE 2016
Did you know that we were one of the first beauty companies to use organic, fairly traded alcohol in our fragrances? It’s something we’re very proud of. In 2016 we teamed up with Native, a socially and environmentally responsible supplier who are awesome at what they do. They distill our organic alcohol from sugarcane in Brazil. They’re leading the way in innovative sustainable agriculture, providing employment to over 300 local women and funding community projects in a rural area with limited opportunities.
As well as being cruelty-free and vegetarian, many of our fragrances are made with Community Trade alcohol, created from ripe organic sugarcane grown on regenerated land in São Paulo, south east Brazil.
The team at Native fund projects in the local community, focusing on supporting children from low-income families and providing after-school activities like literacy, handicraft, literacy, choirs and music clubs and choirs.
Native have created innovative, sustainable practices such as using discarded cane to generate electricity. Their São Francisco Mill where our organic alcohol is produced is a self-sufficient certified carbon neutral company, and they’ve planted over a million trees in the last 30 years!
