FIGHT FOR THE INVISIBLE FRONTLINE WARRIORS
These are tough times, but we’re a business that’s always done things a little differently. This festive season, we are partnering with Plastics for Change India Foundation to launch Project NARI for our female waste pickers who are keeping us safe during Covid19 at great personal risk. Focusing on 4 key pillars - Nutrition, Ability, Retraining & Inclusivity – we aim to make a real change in their lives. Donate Rs.20 or more on every purchase online to help support this project. You can also visit our stores to make a donation. Join in and help us fight the good fight
“Plastics For Change is thrilled to launch this campaign and it just re-emphasizes how The Body Shop's commitment to people and the planet is unparalleled in the industry. We are glad to have the opportunity to serve and provide safety to the waste-picker communities who are on the front-lines of this crisis.”
“We feel honored to be able to take our partnership with Plastics for Change one step further. Our association with Plastics For Change Foundation for Project NARI, aims to help create positive impact for the betterment & welfare of our female waste-pickers."
COMMUNITY TRADE RECYCLED PLASTIC
The Body Shop launched the world’s first ever Community Trade Recycled Plastic from Bengaluru, India in 2019. The Body Shop has been buying recyclable plastic collected by waste pickers in Karnataka and introducing it into its packaging following a thorough cleaning and recycling process. By using ethically sourced plastic for packaging, The Body Shop is helping confront the plastic pollution crisis while driving social change through local communities.
